This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Set up servers, switches, storage devices, patch panels, cable management systems, support hardware, and associated infrastructure.
• Execute rack-and-stack tasks in standard, high-density, and AI-compute cabinets.
• Install, route, dress, label, and connect copper and fiber-optic cables.
• Install management cables, console cables, power cords, interconnects, optics, and support components.
• Confirm cable source, destination, port assignment, labeling, connector type, routing, slack, and bend radius.
• Utilize cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, and runbooks.
• Conduct cabling remediation, cleanup, defect correction, and rework.
• Assist remote engineers and support teams with hands-on tasks.
• Replace damaged cables, labels, optics, transceivers, hardware, and field-replaceable components.
• Document serial numbers, asset tags, MAC addresses, photographs, and installation records.
• Update project trackers, completion checklists, issue logs, redline notes, and timekeeping systems.
• Inspect work for visible flaws prior to requesting a quality review.
• Report any blockers, damaged equipment, missing materials, drawing conflicts, site issues, and safety concerns.
• Keep cabinets, pathways, workstations, staging areas, and project zones tidy.
• Safeguard customer floors, cabinets, ports, optics, hardware, and pathways against damage.
• Communicate professionally with leads, superintendents, customers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Engage in ongoing security awareness training and adhere to company policies.
• Identify and escalate security risks while contributing to remediation efforts.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in data center operations, telecommunications, low-voltage, structured cabling, network deployment, or a related field.
• Proficient in installing copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Experience in mounting and installing equipment in data cabinets.
• Ability to adhere to detailed technical instructions, cable schedules, drawings, and runbooks.
• Capable of reading cable labels, rack elevations, port maps, and basic drawings.
• Strong focus on detail, workmanship, documentation, and safety.
• Competent in accurately documenting completed work and functioning independently as part of a traveling field team.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must meet travel, background, drug, safety, and site-access screening requirements.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75% to 90% nationwide, including frequent overnight and extended assignments.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, deployment windows, and 10- to 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier team lifts.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended durations; bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing ladders, and working inside cabinets.
• Competent in performing repetitive tasks related to cable installation, dressing, labeling, and equipment installation.
• Ability to operate in active construction and operational data center environments while wearing required PPE.
