Data Center Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive design process for new data center constructions and expansions.

• Convert business, hardware, and workload needs into facility design requirements (power, cooling, network, and floor area).

• Ensure that designs maximize density, reliability, and efficiency while facilitating swift scalability.

• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers and consultants to produce detailed designs.

• Establish specifications for high-density rack power, redundancy, and UPS configurations.

• Lead cooling design considerations (air, liquid, immersion) to address the requirements of GPU clusters.

• Assess and incorporate renewable energy and sustainability measures.

• Ensure all designs adhere to international and regional standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier guidelines, local building regulations).

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in designing data centers.

• Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and architectural data center design.

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture (or equivalent qualification).

• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing technical design teams.

• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders across construction, operations, and external partners.

• Experience in designing high-density data centers, including: air-cooled environments and liquid-cooled technologies.
