Data Center Commissioning Agent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Commission mechanical and cooling systems that support mission-critical data center operations.

• Carry out commissioning activities across Levels 1 to 5.

• Analyze mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment submittals, specifications, and operational sequences.

• Conduct installation verifications and pre-functional inspections.

• Coordinate equipment startup processes with contractors and manufacturers.

• Ensure the proper functioning of sensors, valves, actuators, pumps, VFDs, alarms, safeties, and controls.

• Implement Functional Performance Testing for cooling systems.

• Engage in and assist with Integrated Systems Testing.

• Test for redundancy, failure, recovery, and emergency operating sequences.

• Confirm BMS operation and mechanical system controls.

• Identify, document, track, and assist in resolving commissioning deficiencies.

• Maintain precise commissioning documentation, test records, and issue logs.

• Align commissioning activities with project schedules and construction milestones.

• Collaborate directly with clients, contractors, engineering teams, controls providers, equipment manufacturers, and other stakeholders involved in the project.

• Assist with final system acceptance, documentation, and turnover.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 6+ years of experience in data center commissioning.

• Solid background in mechanical/HVAC commissioning.

• Experience in commissioning cooling infrastructure for mission-critical data centers.

• Familiarity with commissioning activities across Levels 1 to 5.

• Strong understanding of chilled-water and heat-rejection systems.

• Experience with CRAH/CRAC systems and other cooling equipment used in data centers.

• Knowledge of BMS and mechanical controls.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, control diagrams, specifications, and operational sequences.

• Experience in executing Functional Performance Testing.

• Experience in supporting Integrated Systems Testing.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to identify issues and drive them to resolution.

• Strong written documentation and reporting abilities.

• Effective communication skills with clients, engineers, contractors, vendors, and field personnel.

• Experience in large-scale hyperscale, colocation, cloud, or other mission-critical data center environments is highly preferred.
