This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take charge of the comprehensive data strategy for the Product Line.
• Create and sustain product-specific data models alongside enterprise data architecture.
• Oversee data mapping, extraction, transformation, migration, and analytics tasks from VA legacy systems to updated platforms.
• Formulate and uphold data mapping, validation, and migration plans and timelines.
• Design, develop, test, and manage data tools for datasets originating from various sources.
• Maintain project management plans for the development of data tools.
• Execute data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and validation in accordance with VA standards.
• Ensure that data provided to third parties adheres to specified standards.
• Assist in the development of the VALIP cloud ecosystem and facilitate automated data exchange with supply chain partners.
• Establish and maintain bi-directional interfaces between VALIP and Oracle Health EHR, iFAMS, and other enterprise systems.
• Implement AI/ML algorithms and Generative AI capabilities to enable predictive forecasting and near real-time insights on inventory and demand.
• Create a centralized supply chain dashboard for the real-time tracking of purchase orders, demand changes, and inventory challenges.
• Ensure that data architecture and migration efforts comply with VA security, privacy, and organizational controls.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related discipline, along with 13 years of experience.
• Over 8 years of experience in data architecture and data engineering, with a strong preference for federal health IT experience.
• Proven experience in ETL development, data migration, and data governance within large-scale enterprise contexts.
• Expertise in database engineering, data modeling, and VA legacy systems (AEMS/MERS, GIP, Maximo, VistA).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, VAEC) and data pipeline tools.
• Understanding of FHIR data standards and HL7 messaging for healthcare interoperability.
• Knowledge of AI/ML and Generative AI frameworks for predictive analytics and supply chain enhancement.
• Comprehension of VA data governance standards and HIPAA/PHI requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Preferred certifications include: Certified Deployment Professional; Certified SAFe Agile Architect; Databricks Certified Data Engineer; Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer; CDMP.
