This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the comprehensive architecture that encompasses ingestion, lakehouse, and warehouse layers, along with transformation, modeling, and delivery to reporting and analytics tools.
• Develop and implement pipelines, Spark and SQL transformations, as well as data models.
• Evaluate and provide feedback on the code produced by the team.
• Create lakehouse architectures using Databricks or Fabric, which includes medallion layering, Delta table design, and the semantic layer.
• Choose and justify the use of Databricks, Fabric, or a combination based on client workloads, licensing, expertise, and budget considerations.
• Set up governance and access control mechanisms utilizing Unity Catalog, Purview, or a similar tool.
• Design and construct ingestion processes from databases, SaaS solutions, APIs, files, and legacy systems.
• Partner with clients and data teams to provide strategic database and analytics services.
• A minimum of eight years in data engineering, including at least three years leading architecture and design decisions.
• Demonstrated success in hands-on delivery of data platform design and construction.
• Extensive practical experience with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, along with a working knowledge of the other.
• Proficient in Spark and SQL.
• Strong skills in Python or a comparable language utilized in production data tasks.
• Experience in production environments with Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and lakehouse methodologies.
• Familiarity with Power BI, specifically in semantic model development and implementation.
• Strong capabilities in dimensional and semantic modeling.
• Knowledge of data governance principles, including classification, lineage, cataloging, and access control.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, and testing methodologies applied to data projects.
• Must meet the requirements necessary to pass a background check.
