This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Architect and enhance the data platform utilizing Snowflake as the primary data warehouse and dbt for transformation logic.
• Design and execute batch and streaming pipelines within AWS, ensuring both scalability and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish best practices for data modeling, warehouse schema design, and the standardization of the semantic layer using dbt.
• Define and uphold data governance, security, and privacy policies in alignment with compliance frameworks.
• Lead the migration of data from legacy sources to AWS while collaborating with DevOps to automate and secure deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to comprehend data requirements and align solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor and guide data engineers, supporting code reviews, architectural evaluations, and team skill enhancement.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with extensive expertise in managing a modern data platform end to end: pipelines, storage, modeling, governance, and monitoring.
• Proficient in data modeling (3NF, star/snowflake schemas), ELT/ETL design, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Kinesis, etc.).
• Excellent programming skills in SQL and Python; experienced with CI/CD and data testing in dbt.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata management, and frameworks for data quality.
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis) and handling large-scale datasets.
• Demonstrated experience in modernizing platforms and executing migrations while maintaining live systems.
• Incorporates documentation, data quality, observability, and testing as standard practices while balancing scalability, performance, maintainability, and cost.
• Designs architecture and makes technology decisions, rather than merely implementing them; establishes common patterns and standards across application teams.
• Comfortable working across both engineering and business domains.
• Experience in platform modernization and cloud migration projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, Terraform, Great Expectations, or Monte Carlo is preferred.
