
Dance Backstage Team Member – Seasonal Tour Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee all elements of the backstage area
• Foster relationships with dancers, instructors, studio managers, prop handlers, and attendees
• Aid in event setup and teardown, which includes laying a Marley floor, installing a backdrop, arranging lighting, organizing awards areas, and managing backstage logistics
• Greet and assist dancers, studio managers, instructors, and other attendees during the event
• Ensure organization and effective communication between backstage areas, dressing rooms, prop handlers, and event directors
• Check in dancers backstage and guarantee their readiness to perform on schedule
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and order in backstage areas, keeping them clear of debris and unnecessary traffic
• Collaborate with event directors and studios to facilitate seamless transitions
• Utilize iPad software, headsets, and Slack for team communication
• Prepare physical awards and manage awards table documentation, which includes labeling and bagging awards, pins, medals, trophies, plaques, and related materials
• Distribute awards onstage during award ceremonies
• Restock and organize awards stations and backstage supplies
• Assist with tracking and reporting inventory for event materials and supplies
• Participate in mandatory training sessions and team meetings
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and perform additional tasks as assigned by the event director
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to endure long event days (8–16 hours)
• Capability to stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs (event equipment, merchandise bins, staging materials)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work weekends (Thursday–Monday) and travel from January to June
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Comfortable working in loud, dynamic, and fast-paced settings
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing event requirements
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Previous experience in the event dance industry is preferred but not mandatory
