Dairy Compliance Specialist 1, 2, or 3

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform sanitation and compliance inspections of designated dairy farms, processing plants, and other regulated entities.

• Enforce federal and state laws, regulations, the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, and the Code of Federal Regulations.

• Gather and analyze samples, sanitation procedures, records, product labels, environmental swabs, raw milk, glycol, and water.

• Monitor employee compliance with health, food sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Provide guidance to dairy firm managers and staff on health and food sanitation regulations.

• Alert supervisors to potential hazards, violations, minimum standards non-compliance, and significant changes.

• Review and assess plans and specifications for new or remodeled food establishments and consult with owners or contractors.

• Prepare and submit license applications, necessary documents, fees, agency forms, federal forms, FDA contracts, mileage reports, and expense reports.

• Inform relevant dairy personnel about inspection results and recommended corrective actions.

• Issue stop-sale orders or oversee the voluntary destruction of adulterated, contaminated, or misbranded food products.

• Maintain state-issued equipment and enforcement ratings.

• Review plant records to ensure compliance with specialized training and documentation requirements.

• Distribute samples to laboratories, guarantee sample integrity, and complete collection reports.

• Conduct follow-up inspections, re-sampling, and implement corrective actions post-laboratory analyses.

• Supervise environmental swab collection when necessary.

• Attend meetings, conferences, and training sessions, and perform other assigned tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field from an accredited institution, or certification as a Registered Sanitarian or Environmental Health Specialist, depending on the position level.

• For Agriculture Compliance Specialist 2: one year of experience in conducting inspections and investigations for compliance, or one year at the Agriculture Compliance Specialist 1 level or equivalent.

• For Agriculture Compliance Specialist 3: two years of experience in conducting inspections and investigations for compliance, or one year at the Agriculture Compliance Specialist 2 level or equivalent.

• Capability to complete advanced training in specialized processing operations.

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in record-keeping.

• Awareness of current policies, laws, regulations, and trends in the sector.

• Ability to read, interpret, convey, and apply policy directives.

• Proficiency in completing agency, state, and federal forms and maintaining electronic database records.

• Capacity to meet physical demands such as constant standing/walking, climbing stairs, exposure to water, varying temperatures, and extended travel days.

• Candidates qualifying based on academic credit must provide a college transcript.

• Successful employment verification, background checks, criminal records investigation, and motor vehicle reports are required for hiring.
