Daily Claims Representative, P&C Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +18 more states.

📋 Description

• Investigate, analyze, and assess the extent of liability related to first-party homeowner property losses and damages.

• Engage with policyholders, agents, and service providers through phone, email, and internal systems.

• Precisely document claim details.

• Manage a portfolio of pending claims at various stages of the claims process.

• Interpret and apply insurance policy details to ensure accurate payments and claim declinations.

• Understand and utilize computer-generated loss estimates, engineer’s reports, and construction terminology.

• Update and maintain detailed claim handling notes in the electronic claims management system and associated applications.

• Resolve assigned claims promptly, reserve accurately, and handle claims fairly in accordance with company guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a desk adjuster in the homeowner/property sector.

• Proficiency in adjusting all perils, including plumbing (water mitigation), theft, vandalism, wind, hail, and fire-related claims.

• Capability to understand various policies and assess and apply the appropriate coverage.

• Comfortable collaborating with contractors and vendors to resolve claims efficiently and within policy constraints.

• Experience in conducting recorded statements.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft professional letters and emails.

• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and de-escalate challenging situations.

• Skilled in managing complex claims with loss values up to $100K.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

• Currently licensed or eligible for licensing as an adjuster in TX, FL, NY, NC, SC, and LA; NY license is mandatory.

• Proficient in MS Office applications.

• Familiarity with video and chat technology (MS Teams and Slack).

• Previous experience with claims management systems and Cotality.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection is essential.

• A designated quiet work-from-home environment is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• HAAG Certification is an advantage.
