Cybersecurity Threat Hunter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Actively seek out cyber threats that may be hidden within the network.

• Examine abnormal behaviors that suggest malicious activities.

• Analyze raw logs and network information.

• Work in conjunction with Threat Detection and Incident Response analysts to create hunting leads.

• Compare enterprise trends and activities with current threat intelligence and emerging patterns.

• Identify mitigations for vulnerabilities discovered during threat-hunting operations.

• Lead analysis efforts when an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) or another compromise is detected.

• Formulate threat-hunting strategies to uncover new and evolving threats.

• Develop tools and automation capabilities for threat hunting.

• Conduct incident response for significant security events.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in Threat Intelligence, Cybersecurity Incident Response, Penetration Testing, Reverse Engineering, or Digital Forensics.

• At least three (3) years of experience in analyzing attacker techniques at all attack levels.

• Possession of a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

• Eligibility for an IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at the time of proposal submission.

• Understanding of security challenges across various operating systems.

• Capability to manage large data sets.

• Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Python, and PowerShell.

• Skill in transforming Threat Intelligence into actionable insights.

• Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

• Ability to utilize data to construct a narrative that supports documentation of hunting operations.
