This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Safeguard customer data and information systems from unauthorized access, alterations, or destruction.
• Design and secure Avertium's internal cloud environments for multitenant distributed LogRhythm implementations.
• Execute, configure, enhance, and manage dedicated LogRhythm systems.
• Establish and oversee security groups, EC2 instances, EBS volumes, and S3 buckets.
• Ensure managed SIEM SQL and Elasticsearch databases are maintained according to industry best practices.
• Act as the technical escalation point for other Avertium SIEM engineers.
• Develop internal documentation and architectural diagrams.
• Assist in forecasting the continuous growth of SIEM deployments and support the establishment of new deployments.
• A minimum of five years of overall IT experience, including at least two years in a Cyber Security Engineering role.
• Five years of experience in technical troubleshooting and advanced problem-solving.
• Basic understanding of Cloud Security best practices in both Azure and AWS environments.
• Proficiency in Elastic Search and SQL, including SQL Studio, with the ability to write queries for searches, maintenance, and migration.
• Over two years of experience in supporting and managing distributed LogRhythm deployments.
• Expert-level knowledge of LogRhythm SIEM components.
• Basic understanding of LogRhythm detections and the underlying supporting mechanisms.
• Strong background in automation using one or more of the following: PowerShell, SQL, Bash, or Python.
• Experience in network administration, including troubleshooting IPSEC tunnels and creating VPNs.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience in information security (preferred).
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating system administration (preferred).
• Familiarity with SRE practices and principles (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and convey findings (preferred).
• Familiarity with standard CAB request, approval, and fulfillment best practices (preferred).
• Technical or professional security certifications such as LRPA, LRCA, LRSE, LRDE, CCNP, SANS GIAC, or vendor-specific certifications (preferred).
• Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework (preferred).
