Cybersecurity Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, analyze, and evaluate critical components of Intermountain’s cybersecurity framework.

• Assist with governance, risk management, compliance; identity and access management; data, endpoint, and application security; infrastructure and network security; cyber architecture and standards; reporting and analytics; project management; and business collaboration.

• Execute technical configuration, engineering, oversight, and monitoring tasks.

• Perform risk assessments, corrective action planning, policy formulation, threat monitoring, prevention strategies, remediation efforts, and incident response.

• Create policies, procedures, guidance documents, architectures, standards, and related documentation.

• Manage server administration and engage in scripting activities.

• Gather data and generate analytics and reports.

• Oversee cloud operations, cloud security, and DevSecOps initiatives.

• Implement automation principles within IT settings.

• Act as a lead, consultant, principal subject matter expert, and key team leader for cybersecurity services and project execution.

• Mentor junior professionals and guide team members and resources in incident and task management.

• Address incoming calls, pages, and emails promptly.

• Schedule and execute assigned enhancements, upgrades, and repairs.

• Operate independently with minimal supervision and general guidance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or an advanced cybersecurity certification such as CISSP or SANS 700+ Series.

• 9-10 years of relevant work experience.

• Extensive experience with cybersecurity technologies, systems, and processes.

• Proficient troubleshooting abilities.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, sound judgment, and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

• In-depth understanding of information security regulations such as HIPAA Privacy and Security and PCI-DSS, based on role focus.

• Advanced knowledge of scripting and automation, depending on role focus.

• Capability to effectively prioritize and manage tasks in a high-pressure setting.

• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation or swing/night shift rotation for relevant teams.

• Ability to convey information, operate computers and IT equipment, read monitors and documentation, and maintain a seated or standing position for extended periods.

• Preferred: Master’s degree from an accredited institution, or multiple advanced cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP or SANS 700+ Series.
