This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Collaborate with network and system administrators, developers, business leaders, and end users to oversee the security of the IT environment.
• Keep abreast of emerging security threats and determine suitable preventive and detective strategies.
• Assist in daily operational duties and enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Ensure the application of technical standards and oversee essential technical controls crucial for enterprise security and monitoring.
• Engage in security incident response efforts, which include malware, intrusion detection/prevention, and data loss prevention incidents.
• Maintain ongoing systems monitoring and manage vulnerabilities.
• Track, analyze, and report security key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to management.
• Support regulatory compliance efforts, which include PCI, SOX, and HIPAA self-assessments, third-party reviews, and due diligence activities.
• Provide technical assistance for security-team systems, including anti-malware and encryption technologies.
• Assess compliance with IT policies and manage any policy exceptions.
• Review security configurations for critical systems.
• Assist in security management, architecture, and documentation.
• Help facilitate security training during new associate orientation.
• Design and implement security awareness initiatives.
• Lead security-related projects, develop project plans, and document progress.
• Conduct risk assessments in accordance with Brookdale specifications.
• Aid in security planning, development, and execution across various platforms and applications.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, along with one to three years of relevant experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of technology, operations, and essential business processes.
• Experience with re-engineering and process improvement.
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring quality improvement initiatives.
• Basic analytical ability in a relevant skill or discipline.
• General understanding of the work environment and processes.
• Familiarity with the organization.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Capacity to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
