This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Provide online Criminal Justice career exploration and elective course content for students in grades 9–12.
• Deliver instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process and concentrating on the unique needs of each student.
• Facilitate engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Tailor learning and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency.
• Enhance course materials utilizing approved synchronous and asynchronous tools under the guidance of the principal and coach.
• Manage the grade book, uphold academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and notify administrators of any performance issues.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curriculum-related, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting challenges.
• Travel as needed for professional development, student assessments, and school-related activities.
• Adhere to and implement State, National, and Industry Specific learning standards.
• Create instructional tools and strategies to enhance the curriculum.
• Collaborate with the school and national professional learning community.
• Foster a project-based learning environment.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid CTE state teaching certification OR active high school grade level state teaching certification with CTE Validation.
• Residency in Ohio is required.
• Capability to pass necessary background checks.
• Ability to work independently, generally 40+ hours each week.
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours, typically from 9–5 or 8–4 as specified by the school.
• Competence in collaborating with other educators to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data for instructional purposes.
• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure exceptional student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adjust to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Experience working with the designated age group.
• Background in assisting adults and children with technology usage.
• Experience in teaching in both online/virtual and traditional brick-and-mortar settings.
• Familiarity with project-based learning techniques.
