Crisis Intervention Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Provide telephone-based crisis and suicide intervention counseling to individuals requiring emergency or crisis support.

• Assess and recommend suitable organizations and service providers to address the needs of callers.

• Track callers' circumstances through follow-up case management.

• Accurately document and maintain comprehensive records of telephone interventions during work hours.

• Review daily logs and client records to ensure precise information documentation and upkeep.

• Oversee and assess telephone counselors and volunteers to guarantee quality crisis assistance and accurate documentation.

• Deliver crisis intervention and suicide prevention training and guidance to counselors, volunteers, service providers, and community organizations.

• Attend and engage in staff and team meetings, sharing insights on counselor procedures and services.

• Provide crisis intervention support to community groups affected by suicide, as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field; or a high school diploma/GED with completion of AAS/Life Line 50 hours of Crisis Intervention/Suicide Prevention training and six months of volunteer experience with Seven Counties Services post-training.

• At least six months of experience in social services.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of available community resources.

• Capability to make sound decisions and judgments in stressful or atypical situations.

• Strong supervisory skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

• Willingness to work the 3rd shift, totaling 32 hours weekly.
