Creole Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver professional interpretation services from Creole to English and vice versa remotely through Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and telephone.

• Enable effective communication across medical, legal, educational, government, and social service contexts.

• Provide real-time interpretation of spoken language between Creole and English.

• Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics, standards, and privacy regulations.

• Exhibit professionalism, cultural awareness, precision, and neutrality during interpretation sessions.

• Accept and fulfill remote interpretation assignments as per the schedule.

• Keep abreast of updates in Creole language and terminology pertinent to interpretation.

• Operate independently and efficiently manage assignments in a remote setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in both Creole and English.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Certification or relevant qualifications in interpretation are preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with legal interpreting protocols.

• Experience in interpreting for legal contexts, case hearings, conferences, or similar environments.

• Prior experience with VRI and/or telephone interpretation is preferred.

• Excellent communication and listening abilities.

• Awareness of cultural nuances and capacity to provide culturally sensitive interpretations.

• Capability to interpret accurately and efficiently in real-time.

• Ability to perform under pressure while ensuring accuracy and professionalism.

• Reliable internet connection and suitable equipment for remote interpretation.
