Credit Balance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of all relevant credit balance accounts at provider locations.

• Assess credits based on account aging, monetary values, and expectations set by providers.

• Quickly identify and resolve simple credit-related issues.

• Highlight obstacles and escalate complex cases or potential refunds for further assessment.

• Verify account information and financial transactions within provider patient accounting systems and associated applications.

• Analyze and revert invalid adjustments to eliminate credit balances.

• Deliver detailed explanations and/or obstacles for assigned credit balances.

• Address TRENDAnalyze system rejections within a 48-hour timeframe.

• Respond to QA rejections within 48 hours.

• Oversee accounts receivable to resolve identified client overpayments and maintain follow-up documentation.

• Prepare necessary documentation for provider consent regarding identified overpayments.

• Escalate issues beyond the employee’s control that may negatively affect business relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma.

• Familiarity with administrative processes and systems, including word processing, file and record management, and workplace terminology.

• Capability to comprehend the implications of new information for current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

• Ability to maintain focus on tasks without distractions.

• Proficient in active listening, understanding verbal information, asking pertinent questions, and refraining from inappropriate interruptions.

• Skill in applying general rules to specific situations.

• Competence in understanding spoken information.

• Proficiency in reading and comprehending written information.

• Compliance requirements may involve background checks, drug screenings, and disclosures of personal health information or personally identifiable information.

• Knowledge and experience in Revenue Cycle or Patient Accounting (preferred).

• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel (preferred).
