Credit Analyst I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Make credit decisions within the specified authorized credit limit.

• Prepare comprehensive credit analyses and recommendations for transactions that exceed the Analyst's credit limit.

• Conduct underwriting analysis to evaluate borrowers' character, creditworthiness, and financial situation.

• Provide guidance on transaction structure, terms, conditions, security, and covenant recommendations.

• Perform research, financial analysis, and statistical evaluation to assess creditworthiness and reduce risk exposure.

• Analyze and spread business financial statements and/or tax returns.

• Assess commercial and consumer credit bureau scores.

• Ensure adherence to corporate credit policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with the senior leadership team.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions.

• Analyze the causes of delinquency and recommend solutions.

• Monitor industry trends and market changes.

• Fulfill ad hoc requests as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Business Credit underwriting and risk management within a financial services setting.

• Relevant post-secondary education with a focus on business and finance.

• Availability to work from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM PST.

• Strong understanding of commercial business structures.

• Familiarity with acceptable financing options and methodologies.

• Solid knowledge of business financial statements, business cases, bank statement, and cash flow analysis.

• Understanding of commercial lending security documentation, including collection/workout techniques and remedies.

• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.

• Strong credit writing abilities.

• Capability to identify and assess subtle business risks and key risk drivers.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• Proficient in prioritizing and planning workloads, meeting deadlines, and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
