This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Modify the existing Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner apprenticeship to suit NHS and healthcare learners.
• Evaluate learning materials from an NHS perspective, adjusting examples, workplace activities, and evidence opportunities while maintaining the apprenticeship's standards, knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
• Revise and tailor learning cycles, workshops, case studies, and workplace activities for various NHS environments.
• Utilize knowledge of NHS sustainability, governance, budgets, commissioning, and procurement to align learning with employers' Green Plans, contracts, and improvement objectives.
• Verify the accuracy of NHS policy references and resources, adhere to editorial standards and deadlines, and share subject matter expertise with colleagues and employer partners.
• Mentor adult apprentices through personalized learning plans, monthly one-on-one sessions, and relevant workshops.
• Track progress, offer developmental feedback, and conduct reviews with learners and line managers every 6–8 weeks.
• Recognize barriers early and establish practical support.
• Assist learners in preparing for gateway and end-point assessments.
• Maintain precise records of progress and off-the-job learning.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the program.
• Comply with safeguarding, Prevent, equality, inclusion, funding, and quality requirements, promptly raising any concerns.
• Report to the Curriculum Team Leader.
• Collaborate with Curriculum Development and Sustainability teams.
• Extensive firsthand experience working within an NHS trust, integrated care board, or national NHS body in sustainability, procurement, estates and facilities, operations, or management.
• Practical involvement in net zero or social value initiatives.
• Experience in preparing documents or business cases for senior leaders, boards, or committees.
• Background in managing budgets, resources, or contracts while adhering to NHS governance requirements.
• Familiarity with NHS structures and governance, Green Plans, 2040 and 2045 net zero targets, climate obligations under the Health and Care Act 2022, and CQC Well-led expectations regarding environmental sustainability.
• Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023, Provider Selection Regime, NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap, supplier Carbon Reduction Plans, and social value.
• Awareness of sustainability across healthcare estates, energy, clinical waste, medicines, anaesthetic gases, travel, food, digital services, and lower-carbon care pathways.
• Understanding of corporate responsibility and sustainability, including ESG, sustainability frameworks, GHG Protocol scopes, reporting standards, stakeholder theory, and risk management.
• Ability to review and modify learning materials, validate credible evidence, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in coaching, training, or developing adults, facilitating workshops, and providing feedback.
• A relevant degree in health management, environmental management, sustainability, business, or procurement, or equivalent professional experience.
• A teaching or training qualification such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or a willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication skills, confidence in online delivery, excellent organizational abilities, and meticulous record keeping.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above, or an accepted equivalent.
• Desirable: Experience in a Green Plan role, supporting a board-level net zero lead, or collaborating with healthcare suppliers on net zero commitments.
• Desirable: Familiarity with the Five Case Model, Core20PLUS5, NHS anchor institutions, the NHS 10 Year Health Plan, NHS charities, the NHS Social Value Playbook, Evergreen, or SusQI.
• Desirable: Experience in developing learning resources or delivering apprenticeships.
• Desirable: Relevant professional membership, assessor qualifications, CIPS, NHS leadership, or project management qualifications.
• Desirable: Experience with learning platforms or e-portfolios.
