
Country of Origin Trade Compliance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Perform country of origin assessments for products in line with relevant laws, U.S. Customs and Border Protection guidelines, and international trade agreements.
• Implement rules of origin, including substantial transformation and tariff shift evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to origin marking and labeling standards.
• Analyze and interpret trade regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, legal, supply chain, and regulatory teams.
• Create and maintain documentation and records for country-of-origin assessments and compliance tasks.
• Conduct audits and preserve documentation that supports COO claims, including supplier affidavits and manufacturing processes.
• Offer training and support to internal stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in regulations, evaluate their impact on the organization, and revise compliance procedures accordingly.
• Engage in trade compliance initiatives aimed at enhancing country-of-origin determination processes and systems.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in trade compliance, customs regulations, or international trade.
• Strong grasp of COO determination techniques, including substantial transformation, tariff shift, and regional value calculations.
• Knowledge of HTS classification and trade agreements.
• Exceptional skills in Excel and data analysis.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret regulatory language.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments.
• Capability to work independently and handle multiple projects at once.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% within North America.
• Valid passport or the ability to obtain one.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and/or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or a similar trade compliance certification is preferred.
• Experience with U.S. Customs (CBP) rulings is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
