This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Drive substantial enhancements in manufacturing capabilities pertaining to the Forming discipline across the national group.
• Elevate performance throughout the national group while standardizing and implementing GMF best-practice processes.
• Offer Forming expertise and technical guidance to O-I North America facilities.
• Spearhead improvement initiatives focused on process, productivity, and quality.
• Provide technical leadership for production challenges and process enhancements.
• Cultivate strong working relationships with manufacturing staff to fulfill safety, process, and organizational needs.
• Deliver technical training and leadership to enhance factory capabilities.
• Identify and steer continuous improvement efforts related to forehearth and IS Machine maintenance, operations, and efficiencies.
• Assist Plant Network Leaders in implementing Manufacturing Fundamentals requirements.
• Oversee annual audit assessments and review processes for assigned and Focus Factories.
• Offer Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for intricate technical issues through both remote and on-site technical assistance.
• Generate technical reports and trip reports as necessary.
• Foster regional Forming capability via training, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Aid in the startup, commissioning, and stabilization of new equipment, major repairs, and product introductions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Mold Design, Glass Science, Furnace, Quality, and Machine Repair teams to address complex issues.
• Lead and engage in country group and global discipline meetings.
• Represent national group interests within the global discipline.
• Assist facilities in setting discipline goals and targets, promoting accountability through reporting.
• Champion and exemplify O-I Cares safety principles during plant operations.
• Collaborate closely with Plant Managers, Production Managers, Forming and Job Change Leaders, and Machine Repair Managers.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (trade or mechanical background preferred).
• At least 10 years of experience in the relevant technical field.
• In-depth understanding of relevant processes and associated equipment.
• Proven track record in leading and motivating others to adopt and enhance technical processes.
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
• Experience in glass plants is preferred.
• Strong basic computer skills, including proficiency in e-mail, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Enablon is necessary; training will be provided.
• Willingness to travel 50% to 75% of the time based on activity levels and initiatives.
• Generally available Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work or travel expected.
