Counselor Education Subject Matter Expert – SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Instructional Design team to create an engaging, outcomes-focused online course within a three-month development timeframe.

• Review and utilize onboarding materials provided by the Instructional Design team and the Program Chair.

• Work together with the Instructional Designer and Program Chair to finalize the course roadmap and establish unit-level objectives.

• Provide or enhance course materials, including assignments, discussion prompts, assessments, and multimedia suggestions, in line with learning outcomes.

• Iteratively review and finalize content using specified collaboration tools.

• Integrate AI-generated draft materials, ensuring they are relevant and suitable.

• Ensure course content adheres to quality assurance standards, including ADA compliance.

• Maintain regular communication with the course design team, address feedback, and adhere to design deadlines.

• Evaluate the completed Blackboard course build using the provided checklists.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program.

• Strong work ethic and capability to meet deadlines in a collaborative, remote setting.

• Proficient in web-based communication and project management tools.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

• Experience in developing online courses at the graduate level (preferred).

• Familiarity with Blackboard Ultra or similar learning management systems (preferred).

• Understanding of or experience with AI tools in content creation (preferred).

• Online teaching experience in Counselor Education (preferred).

• Must be physically located in and perform work from an approved state; this position is not available for individuals in Alaska, California, Hawaii, or New York.


🏝️ Benefits

• One-time lump-sum compensation of $1,500.

• Additional $500 compensation if the SME develops the course syllabus, resulting in total compensation of $2,000.

• Remote work arrangement.

• Three-month development cycle.
