Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Prepare, examine, and negotiate English commercial contracts and documentation with Akamai's international clients and partners.

• Provide support to commercial teams around the globe.

• Counsel Sales, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Information Security, and Product Management teams on legal risks associated with commercial sales agreements.

• Ensure adherence to and uniform application of Akamai's legal and business policies and procedures.

• Engage in initiatives to improve the overall efficiency of the legal department.

• Collaborate with Legal and Sales teams as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a law degree from an accredited university.

• Be licensed in a pertinent jurisdiction and maintain good standing as an attorney.

• Have over 3 years of legal experience supporting Sales teams in private practice or in-house settings.

• Preferably have experience with clients in the technology or telecommunications sectors.

• Demonstrate excellent project and time management skills.

• Exhibit sound business judgment, effective prioritization, and reliable follow-through in fast-paced, multi-project environments.

• Have a solid understanding of commercial law, intellectual property rights, and privacy and data protection regulations.

• Be fluent in English.

• Capable of drafting contracts clearly and concisely while conducting legal negotiations via phone or video.

• Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
