This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Deliver cost management services throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle for commercial real estate construction projects across the United States.
• Provide guidance to clients on procurement strategies and oversee vendor prequalification, proposal evaluation, bid analysis, interviews, and appointments.
• Oversee project estimating for construction, fees, direct work, and other associated costs.
• Review and present estimates, value engineering proposals, and risk assessments to clients.
• Validate and challenge vendor pricing using benchmark data from previous projects.
• Establish cost reporting schedules and review, as well as present, cost reports and forecasts.
• Review project budgets and expenditure forecasts with clients.
• Create and maintain commercial risk registers, facilitating meetings with project teams and vendors.
• Manage cost control processes, payment application assessments, contractor entitlements, change orders, and contractual disputes.
• Oversee and monitor invoicing procedures.
• Benchmark performance against successful commissions.
• Handle final accounting, post-contract audits, and account close-outs.
• Conduct post-contract evaluations, document lessons learned, and develop training materials.
• Formulate project handover procedures.
• Comply with applicable SOX control responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field in construction.
• At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is considered advantageous.
• Experience in supporting cost management for medium to large construction projects.
• Prior experience in construction consultancy is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry, including procurement methods, value management, and value engineering.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Familiarity with Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software.
