This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Provide cost management services for extensive corporate real estate, office, and workplace development projects.
• Offer strategic advice to clients and oversee vendor prequalification processes.
• Evaluate proposals, bids, and bid leveling documents; deliver final recommendations; lead bid interviews; and oversee vendor selections.
• Administer project estimating for construction, fees, direct work, and other associated costs.
• Review estimates from junior team members and present estimates, value engineering suggestions, and risk assessments to clients.
• Engage with vendors to review, validate, and challenge costs; compare estimates with data from other projects.
• Set up reporting schedules and review and present cost reports and forecasts.
• Analyze project budgets and spending forecasts with clients; maintain commercial risk registers.
• Facilitate regular meetings with project teams and vendors.
• Oversee cost control processes, including payment applications, contractor entitlements, change orders, payment requisitions, and contractual disputes.
• Manage and track invoicing.
• Benchmark performance against successful projects.
• Handle final accounting, post-contract audits, and account closures.
• Conduct post-contract client reviews, document lessons learned, and develop training manuals.
• Create procedures for project handover.
• Execute relevant SOX control responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field in construction.
• At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in a cost management position within the construction sector.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting cost management for medium to large-sized commercial, corporate interiors, workplace, office, or regional hub construction projects.
• Previous experience in a construction consultancy is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in or prepared to use Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software.
• Adherence to applicable SOX control responsibilities.
