This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Define the company's acquisition strategy, investment criteria, and key market priorities
• Develop and sustain a focused pipeline of prospective acquisition opportunities
• Conduct market research, pinpoint potential targets, and cultivate relationships with business owners, founders, brokers, and industry contacts
• Assist in initial outreach and prepare the Co-CEO for discussions with targets
• Assess acquisition opportunities to determine their suitability for further investigation
• Create financial models that encompass company performance, valuation, transaction structure, returns, and financing scenarios
• Lead commercial due diligence and manage financial, legal, tax, technology, HR, and other due diligence workstreams
• Prepare investment analyses, executive presentations, Board materials, and transaction recommendations
• Aid in transaction structuring, financing analysis, and negotiations with sellers and lenders
• Formulate Day 1 and first-100-day integration plans for completed acquisitions
• Monitor post-close priorities, synergies, and value creation initiatives
• Oversee one or two high-priority CEO-sponsored strategic initiatives between transactions
• Develop systematic approaches to ambiguous business questions, collect information, evaluate alternatives, and generate actionable recommendations
• Drive initiatives related to channel and distribution strategy, new-market expansion, cost optimization, data and analytics, digital and customer experience, technology and AI, product or service expansion, and strategic partnerships
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Product, and external advisors
• Convert complex financial and strategic analyses into concise, decision-ready recommendations
• Keep leadership updated on acquisition pipeline, transaction status, strategic initiatives, risks, and significant decisions
• Build relationships with founders, owners, executives, investors, and external stakeholders
• Manage highly confidential information with sound judgment and discretion
• Create a proactive acquisition pipeline and a repeatable acquisition evaluation process
• Facilitate the progression of active transactions through analysis, diligence, decision-making, and closing
• Provide leadership and the Board with timely transaction analyses
• Lead strategic initiatives from analysis through recommendation, pilot, implementation, or functional handoff
• Enable the Co-CEO to concentrate on relationships, negotiations, major decisions, and business operations
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, management consulting, or a similar transaction-oriented environment
• Significant experience in supporting or leading acquisitions through evaluation, diligence, approval, and closing processes
• Strong skills in financial modeling, accounting, valuation, and investment analysis
• Ability to manage complex, cross-functional workstreams and external advisors
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including experience in developing materials for executives, investment committees, or Boards
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
• Capability to build trust and relationships with founders, business owners, senior executives, and other stakeholders
• Comfortable navigating imperfect information and transforming ambiguous issues into structured analysis and clear recommendations
• Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and capable of taking ownership without requiring significant direction
• Bachelor's degree is required
• Must reside in the United States
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
