Corporate Counsel – General Litigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate lawsuits, demand letters, customer complaints, and other existing or potential legal threats by collecting facts, analyzing risks, and formulating response strategies.

• Prepare and review court documents in collaboration with outside counsel and assist in directing litigation strategy from initial evaluation to resolution.

• Engage directly with opposing counsel to settle disputes and legal threats when suitable.

• Collaborate with various teams within the organization to pinpoint litigation risks and create strategies to mitigate potential exposure.

• Represent the company in small claims court as necessary.

• Investigate and respond to inquiries from regulators and Attorneys General offices concerning customer complaints.

• Offer practical, timely legal advice on emerging business challenges and assist internal partners in understanding and assessing potential legal exposure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent litigation experience in a law firm; in-house experience is advantageous.

• Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school with strong academic performance.

• Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for in-house counsel admission in Massachusetts.

• A practical, business-oriented approach to assessing legal issues, managing risks, and developing solutions.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to autonomously prioritize multiple tasks while effectively collaborating as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships with internal partners and influence stakeholders through sound legal judgment and clear, actionable advice.

• Outstanding written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and the capacity to articulate complex legal matters clearly.

• May be required to obtain a gaming license from the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment.
