This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare, assess, modify, and negotiate agreements with customers and vendors, which include order forms, subscription agreements, technology contracts, statements of work, amendments, nondisclosure agreements, and modifications to Mango's standard documentation.
• Recognize and convey legal, financial, operational, and business risks; propose and negotiate suitable responses; escalate noteworthy or atypical issues as necessary.
• Collaborate with team members throughout the organization to structure contractual terms, validate business arrangements, review transactional documents, and facilitate the signing of contracts.
• Draft and evaluate RFPs and associated responses.
• Ensure quality assurance across contracts and legal documents for precision, consistency, completeness, and a refined final product.
• Implement and enhance contract templates, standard provisions, and legal playbooks.
• Keep precise records, workflows, and organization of contracts and related documents.
• Investigate and resolve legal issues encompassing corporate governance, employment law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, risk management and insurance, and data privacy.
• Work together with external legal experts as necessary.
• Engage in legal team initiatives and special projects.
• Operate under the guidance of the Senior Corporate Counsel, employing established playbooks and precedents while escalating novel issues or deviations.
• Gradually handle more intricate agreements and legal matters as familiarity with Mango's operations, standards, and playbooks increases.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and bar admission in good standing in any U.S. state.
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
• Proficient in contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation.
• Strong legal and business acumen, including the ability to identify risks, suggest practical solutions, and discern when to escalate issues.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capability to produce accurate, polished work.
• Intellectual curiosity and comfort in tackling unfamiliar legal challenges.
• Superior organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple agreements, projects, and deadlines.
• Clear and straightforward communication skills, capable of explaining legal matters and recommendations to non-lawyers.
• Proficient in Google Workspace and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Comfortable working in a Mac-based environment.
• Successful completion of a skills-based contract review assessment during the interview process.
