This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Conduct reviews of AML alerts and cases, including thorough research, to ascertain the presence of suspicious activities.

β€’ Carry out investigations related to client onboarding, maintenance, UARs, governmental sources, and various control areas.

β€’ Evaluate CTRs and other financial transactions to identify and monitor suspicious activities.

β€’ Prepare, communicate, and submit SAR reports; advise on whether to retain or terminate relationships and oversee account closures.

β€’ Guarantee the precision of SARs by employing a risk-based approach.

β€’ Inform cross-functional teams about suspicious activities.

β€’ Perform detailed investigative research utilizing both internal and external data sources.

β€’ Support with 314(b) information requests and law enforcement inquiries.

β€’ Stay informed on relevant state and federal credit union compliance laws and regulations.

β€’ Review, investigate, and resolve FRAML, OFAC, and FinCEN alerts within designated timeframes.

β€’ Complete investigations from inception to conclusion and identify as well as report trends.

β€’ Collaborate with local and federal law enforcement agencies and other financial institutions.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ An Associate’s Degree or a combination of relevant professional experience and education is required.

β€’ At least 1 year of experience in a financial institution with specific job-related experience in AML.

β€’ Familiarity with laws related to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements.

β€’ Experience in investigating customer transactions and examining customer information.

β€’ Proven experience in creating SARs.

β€’ Must meet background screening criteria as outlined by the Federal Credit Union Act.

β€’ Required to maintain confidentiality regarding documentation and communications.
