This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of creative outputs, which include marketing materials, web pages, social media content, email campaigns, presentations, and other deliverables.
• Correct and validate spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
• Uphold the company's internal style guide, brand voice, and external style guides, such as AP and American Chemical Society.
• Evaluate content for consistency regarding dates, names, terminology, formatting, and overall style.
• Collaborate with designers to assess visual layouts and typography, ensuring proper alignment and formatting of text and design elements.
• Offer clear and constructive feedback to members of the creative team.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet stringent deadlines.
• Work alongside writers, designers, project managers, and digital marketing teams to deliver integrated creative solutions.
• Respond promptly in Workfront, Teams, and Outlook within expected timeframes.
• Participate in weekly or regular team meetings, town halls, one-on-ones, and project-specific gatherings.
• Aid in brand messaging, content development processes, audience engagement strategies, and marketing communications frameworks.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and media partners.
• A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in proofreading, copy editing, or editorial roles.
• Experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or biopharmaceutical sectors is required.
• A portfolio showcasing various examples of writing and editing proficiency is mandatory.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a sharp eye for identifying errors.
• Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of standard style guides and the ability to learn and enforce them.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in cross-functional teams, working with non-native English speakers, and across different time zones.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Workfront, and Acrobat.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards in healthcare and life sciences communications.
• Capability to quickly adapt to changing priorities while delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• A problem-solving attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of AP and/or AMA Style guidelines.
• A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred; other educational backgrounds with professional editing/proofreading expertise will be considered.
• Experience in an agency or corporate marketing communications setting is preferred.
• Experience and interest in utilizing AI tools for problem-solving and improving workload efficiency is a plus.
