This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical infrastructures in complex data center and mission-critical projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical design teams on control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
• Work alongside electrical design teams to develop network architectures and electrical-system points lists.
• Coordinate with ICT teams on structured Ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Design robust OT networks utilizing Ethernet and serial networks with wireless, fiber, and copper mediums.
• Establish design bases for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, instrumentation, and software.
• Tailor controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power-monitoring specifications.
• Implement BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ensure compliance with relevant US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models and track as well as justify modifications from client models.
• Coordinate across various disciplines to achieve cohesive designs.
• Participate in project meetings and calls with flexible hours.
• Oversee schedules and ensure adherence to budget expectations.
• Collaborate with global teams on high-profile data center initiatives.
• Engage in client-facing project activities and occasional travel as scheduled.
• A Bachelor's Degree combined with 6+ years of relevant experience or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Minimum of four years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer or as a controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.
• Proficient with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Familiarity with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in technology, electrical, mechanical, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Knowledge of US codes and standards.
• Experience in data center or other mission-critical environments.
• Skilled in Operational Technology networks.
• Experience with SCADA platforms.
• Ability to specify technical cybersecurity requirements.
• Familiarity with BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Capability to work with templated models and effectively track and justify changes.
• Flexibility to work varied hours for project meetings and calls.
• Strong skills in managing schedules, meeting budgets, multitasking, and adapting to deadlines.
