This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical systems on intricate data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical design teams to create control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
• Work alongside electrical design teams on network architectures and points lists for electrical systems.
• Coordinate with ICT design teams regarding structured Ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Create resilient OT networks utilizing Ethernet and serial networks with wireless, fiber, and copper media.
• Develop design bases for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, instrumentation, and software.
• Tailor controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power monitoring technical specifications as needed.
• Implement BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ensure compliance with relevant US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models, tracking and justifying changes from client models.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to achieve cohesive designs.
• Participate in project meetings and calls during flexible hours.
• Manage schedules and adhere to budget expectations while adjusting to project deadlines.
• Collaborate with global AECOM teams on data center initiatives.
• Engage in occasional, scheduled travel for client meetings, milestones, onsite collaboration, or business-critical activities.
• Bachelor's Degree with over 6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A minimum of four years working as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer or as a controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.
• Experience with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Familiarity with electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of US codes and standards is preferred.
• Experience in data center or other mission-critical environments is preferred.
• Background in Operational Technology Networks is preferred.
• Familiarity with SCADA platforms and specifying technical cybersecurity requirements is preferred.
• Ability to work in the US; sponsorship is not available.
• Must be able to attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
• Occasional scheduled travel may be necessary.
