This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical infrastructures in complex data center and mission-critical projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical design teams on control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
• Work alongside electrical design teams to develop network architectures and points lists.
• Coordinate with ICT design teams for structured Ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Create resilient OT networks utilizing Ethernet and serial connections across wireless, fiber, and copper mediums.
• Develop the foundation of design for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, including instrumentation and software.
• Customize controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power monitoring technical specifications.
• Implement BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ensure adherence to relevant US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models while tracking and justifying modifications from client models.
• Collaborate with various disciplines to achieve cohesive designs.
• Attend project meetings and calls, demonstrating flexibility in working hours.
• Schedule tasks effectively to meet budgetary expectations while adapting to project timelines.
• Engage in a hands-on, client-facing role on global data center projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Four years of professional experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer or a controls contractor responsible for creating controls submittals.
• Proficiency with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Familiarity with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of US codes and standards is preferred.
• Experience in data center or other mission-critical environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with Operational Technology Networks is preferred.
• Experience with SCADA platforms and the specification of technical cybersecurity requirements is preferred.
• Ability to work in the United States; sponsorship is not provided.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.
