This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.
• Create automation and SCADA systems for mechanical and electrical frameworks in intricate data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers to formulate control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
• Work alongside electrical designers on network architectures and points lists for electrical distribution and conditioning systems.
• Partner with ICT designers regarding structured Ethernet cabling interfaces.
• Design robust OT networks utilizing Ethernet and serial networks with wireless, fiber, and copper media.
• Establish the basis of design for BAS, PLC, and PMS controllers, as well as for instrumentation and software, including datasheets.
• Develop and customize technical specifications for controls, instrumentation, cybersecurity, and power monitoring.
• Implement BAS, EPMS, and PLC protocols, such as Modbus, BACnet, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ensure adherence to applicable US codes and engineering standards.
• Utilize templated models while tracking and justifying alterations from client models.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to achieve cohesive designs.
• Participate in project meetings and calls with flexible hours.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, multitasking, and project deadlines.
• Collaborate with global AECOM teams on prominent data center projects.
• Engage in hands-on, client-facing tasks with prospects for career progression.
• Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent demonstrated experience and/or education.
• Minimum of four years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer or as a controls contractor creating controls submittals.
• Proficiency with BAS and PLC control system platforms.
• Familiarity with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (PMS/EPMS).
• Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects is preferred.
• Experience with US codes and standards is preferred.
• Background in data center or other mission-critical environments is preferred.
• Experience with Operational Technology Networks is preferred.
• Familiarity with SCADA platforms and specifying technical cybersecurity requirements is preferred.
• Ability to ensure compliance with relevant US codes and engineering standards/practices.
• Willingness to work flexible hours for project meetings and calls.
• Must be detail-oriented, technical, adaptable, and capable of meeting project deadlines and budget constraints.
