Contracts Manager – Avionics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary contractual advisor and representative for designated programs.

• Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external clients.

• Assess, interpret, negotiate, and oversee intricate contracts.

• Analyze customer RFPs to pinpoint proposal requirements, contractual risks, and intellectual property considerations.

• Create, revise, and negotiate complex terms and conditions.

• Lead intricate customer contract negotiations alongside legal and subject-matter experts.

• Offer strategic advice on contract strategy, interpretation, and risk management.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, FAR/DFARS, export/global trade, and CUI requirements.

• Oversee contracting and proposal activities, including urgent and unexpected requests.

• Foster customer relationships and assist in issue resolution.

• Collaborate with program management, finance, legal, engineering, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Provide mentorship or support to junior contract professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, export controls, and contract compliance standards.

• Demonstrated capability to lead negotiations and manage complex contracts with minimal supervision.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Ability to adhere to ITAR/EAR and CUI requirements as necessary.

• Experience in both commercial and government contracting environments.

• Proficiency with Long-Term Agreements, General Terms Agreements, and Settlement Agreements.

• Working knowledge of cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, FAR Part 12, and FAR Part 15/TINA contract structures.
