📋 Description

• Create educational content for Ascension's religious education curriculum targeting Grades 4 to 8.

• Compose engaging, age-appropriate, and theologically sound student texts.

• Design student activities that reinforce lesson goals and relate learning to students' lives.

• Develop assessments that align with lesson and unit objectives.

• Write instructional texts for classroom educators and parish catechists.

• Provide teaching guidance, background information, discussion prompts, and supplementary materials.

• Ensure that teacher resources are effective in Catholic school and parish environments.

• Create take-home materials that support parental engagement and ongoing faith development.

• Adhere to Ascension's established scope and sequence, writing templates, and style guidelines.

• Collaborate with the Curriculum Specialist on lesson and unit development.

• Revise manuscripts in response to editor feedback.

• Meet deadlines for components and communicate progress and due dates effectively.

• Engage in regular check-ins with the Associate General Manager, Senior Product Manager, Curriculum Specialist, Editors, and Project Manager.

• Ensure that the content accurately reflects Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition as outlined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

⛳️ Requirements

• All candidates must include a writing sample with their application.

• The writing sample should consist of curriculum content designed for elementary-age students, preferably related to religious education, such as a lesson, student reading, activity, or teacher guide page.

• The writing sample must specify the intended grade level.

• Samples of 2–5 pages are preferred.

• Exemplify Ascension's core values of humility, passion, and integrity.

• Experience in developing curriculum for elementary students is required.

• Familiarity with religious education is essential.

• A solid understanding of the Catholic faith is necessary.

• A signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is mandatory.
