Content Moderator, Trust and Safety

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Examine flagged content against the actual material, verify claims, and evaluate automated flags in comparison to human reports.

• Make decisions and implement enforcement actions ranging from removing individual items to disabling accounts or workspaces.

• Manage customer appeals and draft policy-based responses, including denials and final decision notices.

• Process refunds or related account actions where policy timelines apply.

• Keep decision logs with supporting rationale and identify confirmed false positives.

• Assess sensitive and high-severity content, escalating ambiguous cases and those requiring mandatory reporting.

• Identify coordinated abuse patterns across multiple accounts.

• Manage data export and account recovery requests in accordance with policy.

• Diagnose non-abuse issues and direct them to the appropriate team.

• Enhance response templates, identify patterns of false positives, and flag policy gaps.

• Review distressing, explicit, graphic, hateful, or exploitative content.

• Escalate cases when content or context is restricted or when cases have an emotional impact.


⛳️ Requirements

• Formal education in content moderation, trust & safety, or a related compliance/enforcement field, through certification, a structured training program, or equivalent documented hands-on experience.

• 3 to 4+ years of relevant work experience with a general understanding of trust & safety, compliance, or risk-adjacent functional areas.

• Proven ability to make and support enforcement decisions independently, while recognizing which cases necessitate escalation.

• Openness to reversing a prior decision in writing when new information alters the context, without an ego regarding the original judgment.

• Proficient written English: your responses are delivered to customers without edits.

• Familiarity with case management and reporting tools (e.g., ticketing systems, internal administrative tools, spreadsheets).

• Analytical and critical thinking skills; comfortable making high-stakes judgment calls independently.

• Composed under pressure, including when dealing with hostile or upset customers.

• Investigative mindset and capability to identify inconsistencies.
