Content Developer, Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate content-specific test items, such as multiple choice, technology-enhanced items, extended responses, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations across various grade levels for large-scale assessments.

• Assist in the development of item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other supplementary documents.

• Utilize AI-driven tools to aid in the creation, review, and improvement of assessment content while ensuring compliance with quality and accessibility standards.

• Work collaboratively with team members to incorporate AI-generated materials into assessment workflows and offer feedback based on content knowledge and educational expertise.

• Aid in the selection, assignment, management, and training of item/passage writers and educators.

• Organize and assist in customer meetings, providing expertise in content assessment.

• Oversee test construction activities and review created test forms.

• Consult with clients during planning, status updates, and review meetings.

• Collaborate with test development managers, content creators, psychometricians, and other Pearson departments.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies pertinent to educational content development and assessment, including AI advancements.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

• Travel as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in education, a content-specific field, or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of five years of experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the respective content area is preferred.

• A professional understanding of the specific content area and current educational trends is essential.

• Experience in large-scale educational measurement is preferred.

• General knowledge of all phases related to the development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments is preferred.

• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear indicators of strong potential and readiness to effectively utilize AI in content creation.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for educational purposes.

• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, along with the confidence to navigate unfamiliar programs.

• A strong interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they develop.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to creatively and flexibly tackle challenges with diverse audiences.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.

• Some travel may be required.
