Content Developer, Physical Sciences – 12 Month Limited Term

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate content-specific test items, including multiple choice, technology-enhanced, extended response, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations across various grade levels for large-scale assessments.

• Assist in the development of item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other supplementary documents.

• Utilize AI-powered tools to aid in the creation, review, and improvement of assessment content, ensuring that the final products adhere to quality and accessibility standards.

• Collaborate with team members to incorporate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows, providing feedback grounded in content knowledge and educational expertise.

• Aid in the selection, assignment, management, and training of item/passage writers and educators to create items in line with standards, cognitive complexity, and best practices in item development.

• Organize and assist in customer meetings while offering expertise in content assessment.

• Oversee activities related to test construction and the review of assembled test forms.

• Consult with clients as necessary, including attending planning, status, and review meetings.

• Collaborate closely with test development managers, fellow content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson departments.

• Keep abreast of new technologies pertinent to educational content creation and assessment, including AI advancements.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the relevant content area is preferred.

• In-depth professional knowledge of the content-specific area and current educational trends is required.

• Some experience in large-scale educational measurement is preferred.

• General understanding of all phases of development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments is preferred.

• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development, or strong potential and willingness to effectively utilize AI in content creation.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and assessing AI-generated content for educational use.

• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, along with the confidence to work with unfamiliar programs.

• A strong interest in learning about and adapting to new AI technologies as they emerge.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to creatively and adaptively tackle challenges with diverse audiences.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple activities and adjust to unexpected events.

• Some travel may be required.
