Content Developer, Physical Sciences

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate content-specific test items for various grade levels used in large-scale assessments.

• Design and assess multiple-choice, technology-enhanced, extended-response, cluster-set, performance-based, and simulation items.

• Assist in the formulation of item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and related documents.

• Utilize AI-driven tools to create, review, and improve assessment content while adhering to quality and accessibility standards.

• Collaborate with team members to incorporate AI-generated assets into assessment processes and provide expert feedback.

• Select, assign, manage, and train item and passage writers as well as educators.

• Facilitate and support client meetings, offering content assessment expertise.

• Oversee test construction activities and review created test forms.

• Consult with clients during planning, status, and review meetings.

• Work in conjunction with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson teams.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies related to educational content creation and assessment.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary educator in the specific content area is preferred.

• Professional expertise in the content-specific area and awareness of educational trends is required.

• Some background in large-scale educational measurement is preferred.

• General understanding of all stages of development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments is preferred.

• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to effectively utilize AI in content creation.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for educational purposes.

• Proficiency in basic software tools and technology, with the confidence to work with unfamiliar programs.

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning about and adapting to evolving AI technologies.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to creatively and flexibly tackle challenges with diverse audiences.

• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple activities and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.

• Some travel may be required.
