Content Author – Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Independently create sections, challenge activities, labs, and various content types.

• Take charge of assigned projects or titles, serving as the primary author on one or more titles.

• Maintain a list of enhancements for engineering titles.

• Contribute strategic insights and roadmap suggestions to Leads or Senior Managers.

• Ensure the quality of projects or titles in partnership with the project manager.

• Present at conferences and publish research papers, articles, webinars, and blog posts.

• Work with development colleagues to define and create interactive tools.

• Produce modern web-based content featuring interactive learning questions and animations across engineering subjects.

• Manage external authoring projects, including evaluating proposals, training authors on the zyBooks platform, and reviewing content for quality and compliance with guidelines.

• Maintain and enhance existing content.

• Partner with engineering colleagues to develop interactive tools.

• Collaborate with marketing and sales on demonstrations, instructor feedback, and special requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Education.

• Familiarity with LaTeX, MathML, and/or XML.

• Previous teaching and/or authoring experience.

• A strong desire to make a significant impact in engineering education.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Highly motivated and organized.

• Resume/CV is required.

• Preferred: Prior academic research experience and publications in engineering education.

• Preferred: Experience with coding in MATLAB and/or Python.
