Consumer Loan Closer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Handle consumer loan closing requests, which include HELOCs, TRID loans, manufactured home loans, dealer manufactured home loans, dealer marine loans, and modifications.

• Assess loan approvals, relevant documentation, and banking systems to ensure thorough due diligence is completed.

• Evaluate HMDA eligibility and review flood determinations, title work, insurance documents, settlement statements, closing disclosures, titling information, purchase contracts, entity documentation, and appraisals.

• Collaborate with Lending staff, Closing Agents, and Dealers to address documentation deficiencies prior to scheduled closings.

• Elevate issues to Loan Closing Management when necessary.

• Create closing documents utilizing LaserPro and distribute them to Closing Agents, Dealers, and/or Lenders.

• Review and authorize settlement statements prepared by Settlement Agents.

• Adhere to department Service Level Agreements for loan closing requests.

• Initiate wires, ACH payments, DDA deposits, or official checks to finance eligible loan closings after the rescission period.

• Supervise newly received requests in the Loan Closing workflow and monitor work in progress.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma is required.

• One to three years of experience in consumer loan documentation is necessary.

• Experience with real estate closing transactions is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.

• Familiarity with LaserPro and DecisionPro is preferred.

• Outstanding time management and organizational capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills are required.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.

• Must reside within the SouthState footprint: FL, GA, AL, VA, SC, NC, TX, or CO.

• A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions is necessary.

• A reliable private internet connection is required for telecommuting, preferably cable or fiber, not supplied by cellular data.
