Consultant, Hydrogeology Modelling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist ERM modellers in the development and calibration of numerical models for groundwater flow and contaminant transport.

• Aid ERM modellers in the creation of technical documentation.

• Contribute to site characterization and remediation initiatives.

• Evaluate field data in collaboration with junior colleagues, Project Managers, and Task Managers.

• Assist in data reporting and the preparation of technical appendices, including groundwater maps, stratigraphic logs, and lithological sections.

• Coordinate with other members of the project team.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of the latest versions of MODFLOW (MODFLOW-USG / MODFLOW 6).

• Demonstrated experience in using PEST for model calibration.

• Strong hydrogeological knowledge.

• Understanding of hydrochemistry, including key contaminant degradation processes in the aqueous phase.

• Proficiency in geostatistics.

• Familiarity with GIS software (QGIS or ArcGIS).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience with Python programming, especially using FloPy (preferred).

• Knowledge of FEFLOW (preferred).

• Skills in basic and multivariate statistics.

• Proactive, inquisitive, and solution-oriented mindset.

• Capability to work effectively within international and multidisciplinary teams.

• Flexibility and ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
