Consultant – Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Jordan.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current Jahez GEDSI Action Plan and its status of implementation.

• Create a GEDSI technical support workplan, including an implementation timeline and coordination mechanisms.

• Offer regular GEDSI technical advisory and quality assurance updates.

• Examine project activities, partner deliverables, reports, publications, communication materials, research methodologies, and stakeholder engagement efforts.

• Identify risks, gaps, opportunities, and necessary corrective or adaptive actions related to GEDSI.

• Conduct up to three structured capacity-building sessions focused on GEDSI.

• Develop assessments of training needs, curricula, presentation materials, practical tools, exercises, attendance records, feedback summaries, and learning reports.

• Assist the MEL team and implementing partners with GEDSI indicators, data disaggregation, monitoring tools, reporting, evidence gaps, and lessons learned.

• Create, adapt, and enhance practical GEDSI tools and guidance materials.

• Provide GEDSI technical support for project reviews, donor missions, learning events, procurement and activity-planning documents, and communication campaigns.

• Draft briefing notes, evidence summaries, recommendations, and supporting documentation.

• Compile a final report on GEDSI learning and recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, Public Policy, Human Rights, Sociology, Disability Studies, or a related field.

• A minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience in gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion programming.

• Proven experience in integrating GEDSI into programs focused on climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, natural resource management, water, environmental issues, or resilience.

• Demonstrated experience with FCDO-funded projects or other prominent bilateral or multilateral donors.

• Strong comprehension of safeguarding, intersectionality, and inclusive development strategies.

• Experience in designing and implementing capacity-building initiatives.

• Background in supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems with GEDSI-related indicators.

• Exceptional analytical, facilitation, communication, and report-writing capabilities.

• Experience collaborating with government institutions, NGOs, research organizations, and community stakeholders.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
