This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tanzania.
• Deliver comprehensive technical leadership, coordination, quality assurance, and strategic oversight for the gender component of the UNESCO–BNU Project.
• Collaborate on the design of project methodologies, ICT Club activities, mentorship initiatives, Innovation Bootcamp events, training resources, facilitation guides, implementation tools, and capacity-building strategies.
• Mobilize, coordinate, supervise, mentor, and provide technical direction to three Supporting Gender Specialists.
• Enhance the capabilities of the technical implementing partner, educators, mentors, school focal persons, and other stakeholders.
• Offer technical leadership and monitoring during ICT Clubs, mentorship programs, ICT and STEM clinics, Innovation Bootcamps, STEM hackathons, and related activities.
• Identify and prepare female ICT and STEM role models and mentors, designing mentorship and career-exposure engagements.
• Maintain direct technical responsibility for five assigned schools.
• Ensure the consistent application of gender-responsive and gender-transformative strategies across 20 schools.
• Identify gender-related barriers, risks, and opportunities, and suggest measures to enhance implementation.
• Consolidate and verify monitoring findings, achievements, lessons learned, best practices, challenges, and recommendations.
• Prepare the Inception, Technical Review and Team Mobilization Report, Consolidated Gender Technical Monitoring and Quality Assurance Report, and Final Gender Technical Report.
• Act as the primary technical focal point and remain accountable to UNESCO for technical outputs.
• Advanced university degree in Gender Studies, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
• More than 10 years of experience in gender equality, girls’ empowerment, and gender-transformative programming.
• Proficiency in integrating gender-responsive and gender-transformative approaches into education, digital skills, ICT, STEM, youth development, or related programs.
• Experience in providing technical leadership, coordinating multi-stakeholder programs, and supervising multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Background in designing and delivering capacity-building initiatives.
• Experience in providing technical advisory services and producing high-quality analytical and technical reports.
• Familiarity with working alongside government entities, development partners, and international organizations.
• Exceptional facilitation, communication, analytical, coordination, mentoring, and report-writing abilities.
• Proficient in English and Kiswahili.
• PhD is highly desirable.
• Experience with UNESCO/UN is an additional advantage.
