This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Review, update, and document ophthalmologic training curricula for INO and IRO.

• Integrate simulators, wet lab activities, surgical training equipment, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and clinical education into the curricula.

• Define competencies, learning objectives, activities, expected outcomes, and evaluation approaches for residency levels and priority subspecialties.

• Develop content, materials, and guidelines for the use of equipment and resources in the Training Centers.

• Propose monitoring and evaluation tools and indicators, along with recommendations for sustainability, faculty participation, and institutional ownership.

• Review IRO documentation against the accreditation requirements of the Ophthalmology Foundation and identify gaps.

• Complete, update, and organize the necessary documentation for IRO's presentation to the Ophthalmology Foundation.

• Prepare the Initial Report and Work Plan for INO and IRO within the first three weeks.

• Deliver the Final Consolidated Curriculum Development Package at the end of 10 weeks.

• Submit the Final Consolidated Accreditation Package for the IRO within 12 weeks.

• Technically coordinate with the Program Director of Orbis in Peru, the Project Manager of LAD, the Teaching Departments, academic leadership, faculty, and relevant teams.

• Participate approximately every two weeks in technical coordination with the Orbis volunteer specialist.

• Review documentation, consult stakeholders, and participate in technical meetings and workshops.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional degree in Medicine, Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.

• Proven experience in teaching and training residents.

• Experience in the development, updating, or implementation of medical education curricula or training programs.

• Experience in managing academic programs.

• Knowledge in competency-based education, simulation, wet lab, or clinical/surgical training will be desirable.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.

• Written and verbal communication skills in English will be appreciated but are not essential.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Must reside within Peruvian territory.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple products simultaneously, and meet agreed deadlines in a multicultural environment with multiple partners.

• Responsibility for personal tax obligations, legal contributions, and records required by Peruvian legislation to provide services as an independent contractor.

• Consultancy based on products/deliverables with payments upon acceptance of each product: 50%, 30%, and 20%.
