Computational Biologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Contribute analyses to projects that identify novel drug targets, biomarkers, and disease subtypes through reverse translation utilizing multi-omics patient or pre-clinical data.

• Analyze biomedical datasets employing classical and innovative omics methodologies alongside machine and deep learning algorithms.

• Conduct literature reviews on pertinent approaches and datasets.

• Interpret findings and assist in designing validation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Work alongside computational biologists, chemists, AI scientists, medical imaging experts, medical doctors, and biologists.

• Provide analyses and visualizations for scientific communications and reports, both internally and externally.

• Engage in internal R&D activities, develop new methodologies, and enhance existing ones.

• Ensure that Owkin’s Toolbox remains state-of-the-art.

⛳️ Requirements

• MSc / PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, biology, machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.

• Experience with omics data and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data processing pipelines.

• Proven experience integrating multi-omics datasets.

• Background in early-stage drug discovery programs, including target identification, biomarker discovery, and patient stratification.

• Strong understanding of molecular and cellular biology, particularly in relation to cancer and/or other human diseases.

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools such as cross-validation, statistical tests, scikit-learn, and XGBoost.

• Experience in utilizing autonomous AI agents and agentic workflows for data analysis.

• Proficient programming skills in Python.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
