Compliance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage corrective action processes from the identification of issues to their resolution.

• Ensure that root cause analyses are conducted using recognized methodologies.

• Validate the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

• Maintain documentation and tracking systems for corrective actions.

• Assist sites that have overdue or high-risk corrective actions.

• Identify systemic problems and suggest improvements across sites or business units.

• Plan, coordinate, and carry out internal audits.

• Support external audits conducted by regulatory agencies, customers, or certifying organizations.

• Develop audit schedules and ensure timely completion at high-risk locations.

• Document findings from audits, track remediation efforts, and confirm closure.

• Guide site teams on audit readiness and compliance best practices.

• Prepare audit reports and present findings to leadership.

• Act as a compliance resource for designated high-risk sites.

• Monitor compliance trends, risks, and vulnerabilities at high-exposure sites.

• Assist site leadership in adhering to standard processes that align with corporate regulatory requirements.

• Escalate and communicate emerging risks effectively.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance maturity at the site level.

• Manage the creation, formatting, and distribution of controlled documents.

• Maintain document templates, naming conventions, metadata, revision formats, and filing structures.

• Facilitate electronic workflows for drafting, reviewing, approving, and releasing documents.

• Coordinate cross-functional document reviews.

• Ensure that all necessary technical, quality, and regulatory approvers are included in the routing process.

• Administer electronic signatures and maintain approval trails.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Quality, Engineering, Compliance, or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.

• 3–5 years of direct experience in corrective action management, internal/external audits, or compliance operations.

• Experience working in high-risk, regulated, or operationally complex environments.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FAA, EASA, AS9100, ISO standards, or other relevant regulatory bodies.

• Proven capability to manage multiple corrective actions and audit activities concurrently.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in root cause analysis methods.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize effectively.

• Proficiency in compliance tools, audit software, and corrective action systems.

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or similarly regulated industries.

• Quality certifications such as ASQ CQA, CQIA, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are preferred.

• Experience with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

• Previous involvement with multi-site or global compliance programs.
