This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Perform routine audits of internal processes, documentation, and operational procedures.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations, HR policies, and organizational guidelines.
• Detect compliance deficiencies, risks, inconsistencies, and areas that need enhancement.
• Suggest corrective measures and monitor their implementation until completion.
• Maintain a compliance calendar that includes audits, renewals, regulatory obligations, and deadlines.
• Guarantee that policies and procedures are up-to-date, documented, and uniformly enforced.
• Keep precise records of compliance activities, findings, and corrective actions taken.
• Escalate significant or recurring compliance issues to senior management.
• Act as the main contact for external audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Organize the preparation and submission of necessary documentation.
• Ensure continuous audit readiness and oversee compliance accreditations and renewals.
• Collaborate with various departments to resolve audit findings and monitor corrective action plans.
• Supervise medical record compliance, documentation standards, and record-keeping practices.
• Review medical records to ensure they are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
• Monitor privacy, confidentiality, and information security standards.
• Maintain libraries of company policy and compliance documentation.
• Assist departments in comprehending and implementing compliance obligations.
• Manage governance, policy, and company records.
• Aid with formal company documentation, tracking approvals, renewals, and governance deadlines.
• Support administrative tasks related to company secretarial and governance matters.
• Safeguard sensitive and confidential information appropriately and securely.
• Report to a senior leader and take responsibility for organizational compliance efforts.
• Demonstrated experience in compliance, quality assurance, internal auditing, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards.
• Experience in preparing for, coordinating, or assisting with external audits.
• Strong grasp of policy management, document control, and corrective action procedures.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work collaboratively across various departments and hold stakeholders accountable professionally.
• Comfortable identifying compliance issues and appropriately escalating significant risks.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage various compliance tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
• Experience in medical records compliance and healthcare documentation is highly beneficial.
• Experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, ABA, home care, or other regulated sectors is highly advantageous.
• Prior exposure to company secretarial, corporate governance, or governance administration is highly beneficial.
• Experience in managing compliance accreditations and regulatory renewals is highly valuable.
• Experience in developing and tracking corrective action plans is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with US healthcare compliance requirements is highly advantageous.
