Compliance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Analyze and break down regulatory frameworks and licensing requirements.

• Assist in licensing and regulatory readiness initiatives, which include scoping, applicability analysis, gap assessments, evidence requests, policy reviews, application preparation, and tracking remediation.

• Perform an initial review of AI outputs to ensure regulatory accuracy, evidence support, source traceability, and suitability for clients.

• Transform unstructured requests into well-defined scopes and deliverables, including compliance analyses and review reports.

• Provide support for compliance guidance, evidence checklists, submission material mapping, and licensing deliverables.

• Collaborate with Engineering to create regulatory mappings, templates, review rules, evaluation cases, and structured AI workflows.

• Elevate high-risk regulatory interpretations and final legal or compliance conclusions to senior reviewers or the Legal team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of Engineering experience in compliance, regulatory consulting, digital assets, fintech, financial services, compliance audits, or working within a law firm.

• Practical experience with at least one licensing application, regulatory registration, or comprehensive regulatory readiness project.

• Strong grasp of regulatory analysis, evidence review, and licensing documentation.

• Capability to deliver clear guidance, mappings, presentations, and client reports.

• Excellent client communication and project management skills across different functions.

• Ability to handle urgent and ambiguous requests from client-facing teams while upholding quality standards.

• Proficient in written and spoken English; professional proficiency in Chinese is preferred, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with digital asset regulations, VASP licensing, or similar frameworks is a plus.

• Basic understanding of LLM limitations, hallucination risks, source traceability, and human-in-the-loop review processes.
